Physiotherapy Department Enhances Clinical Decision-Making and Patient Safety

The Physiotherapy Department at Tishk International University – Sulaimani successfully concluded a three-day advanced professional training course on Evidence-Based Assessment and Management of Acute Neck Pain, held from January 27–29, 2026.

The intensive program aimed to enhance clinical decision-making and patient safety through mastery of the gold-standard Canadian C-Spine Rules and the latest multimodal, evidence-based treatment strategies. The training emphasized rapid, accurate assessment and effective management during the most critical stages of acute neck pain recovery, reinforcing the department’s commitment to bridging cutting-edge research with hands-on clinical practice.

The course was conducted under the tutelage of Dr. Mubarak Muhammad from the Physiotherapy Department at Tishk International University – Sulaimani.


Course Structure

The training brought together practicing clinical physiotherapists and healthcare professionals from across the Sulaimaniyah governorate.

  • Day One: Fundamental clinical principles of acute neck pain

  • Day Two: In-depth, hands-on patient assessment techniques

  • Day Three: Current evidence-based clinical management approaches for acute neck pain


Closing Ceremony

The final day was marked by the honored presence of Prof. Dr. Khidir Masum Hawrawi, President of Tishk International University – Sulaimani, who presented certificates of attendance to the participants, highlighting the university’s strong support for professional development and clinical excellence.
