SULAYMANIYAH, May 21, 2026 – As part of the 2025–2026 Academic Year Sports Tournaments, which commenced in April 2026, the Dean of Students Office at Tishk International University Sulaimani (TIU-S) successfully concluded the university’s Chess Tournament, bringing together students in a competition that celebrated strategic thinking, concentration, and intellectual excellence.
Following several rounds of competition, the finalists advanced to the championship match, which was held on May 21, 2026, where they demonstrated exceptional analytical skills and sportsmanship.
The tournament reflects Tishk International University Sulaimani’s commitment to promoting student engagement through extracurricular activities while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and lifelong learning, and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting healthy recreational activities.
