On February 7th, 2021, the Architectural Engineering Department in Tishk International University, arranged a scientific trip to “Qaiwan City” for 3rd grade students. The group of students were supervised by one of the project engineers, who was assigned by the company to administrate the visitation and guide the students.

The project was near completion, although some residential units were still under construction, and the students had the opportunity to observe the construction procedure on site, and understand the process of setting the foundation, column, beam and shear walls which support loads.

Ventilation, thermal insulation and sound isolation systems and solution used in the project were explained to the students. Privacy and sound transfer (whether horizontally and vertically through the slabs) were also discussed as they are very important factors in any modern residential project. The students enjoyed the academic trip and expressed how such visitations helps them gain a clear understanding of construction, material, and procedures used.
