Faculty of Pharmacy Integrates Pharmaceutical and Industrial Perspectives

In continuation of its scientific activities, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishk International University organized a national workshop on Sunday, November 2, 2025, entitled “Drug Color and Its Role in Medication Effectiveness: Integrating Pharmaceutical and Industrial Perspectives.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Dunya Mohammed and Dr. Asad Ali.

Key Themes

The event highlighted the growing scientific interest in the relationship between drug color, patient perception, and therapeutic effectiveness. The presenters explained how visual appearance—particularly color—can influence medication adherence, patient expectations, and overall treatment outcomes.

The session explored:

  • Pharmaceutical basis of drug coloring, including formulation considerations, stability, excipient selection, and regulatory guidelines

  • Industrial perspective, emphasizing color standardization, manufacturing processes, branding strategies, and visual identity in modern pharmaceutical industries

  • Psychological impact of color, including how different shades affect mood, trust, compliance, and recognition

Conclusion

The workshop underscored the essential role of color in pharmaceutical design, from improving patient adherence to supporting industrial quality and safety standards. The session strengthened the understanding of how thoughtful color selection contributes to both scientific effectiveness and patient well-being.
