The 7th ITEP Event, a collaborative project between Tishk International University Sulaimani (TIU-S) and Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University (SPU) witnessed a significant achievement in the Computer and IT Category. The joint project, entitled “An Innovative AI Solution to Enhance Fuzzy Public Transportation Network in Kurdistan Region”, was forged between the Computer Engineering Department of TIU-S and the City Planning Department of SPU. It aimed to refine public transportation through a sophisticated AI-driven methodology, integrating the extant bus network across urban areas. This proposed GPS-connected bus network system is designed to reduce waiting duration, offer precise estimations of arrival and departures, indicate the shortest possible routes, and feature a user-friendly mobile application harmonious with the current bus infrastructure. By introducing this transportation solution, the endeavour envisions transforming intra-city mobility in the region, ensuring dependable, streamlined, and enduring transit options for the populace.

The project was conducted by Akar Hassan Abdulqadir, a student at the Computer Engineering Department, under the supervision of Mr. Mohammed Latif Mahmood, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department.
