Mayorca City Site Trip
On April 4th, 2023, the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University-Sulaimani (TIUS) organized a scientific trip to Mayorca City for fourth-stage students. The aim of the trip was to introduce the students to the pile construction stages and the use of different types of materials during construction.
Under the guidance of Dr. Pshtiwan Shakour, and accompanied by knowledgeable site managers and project supervisors, the students embarked on an educational journey through the active construction environment. The visit included an insightful presentation at the on-site laboratory, where the various stages of building construction were meticulously detailed. Key processes such as the installation of foundation reinforcement, the construction of concrete shear walls, and the intricacies of building finishing were thoroughly explained. Students had the chance to observe a variety of structures at different phases of completion, gaining valuable insights into the practical challenges and solutions inherent in civil engineering projects. Emphasizing the importance of safety in the field, the project managers ensured that all participating students were apprised of and adhered to the necessary safety protocols throughout the visit.
