Workshop: Design Innovation Inspired by Nature

The Department of Architectural Engineering at Tishk International University-Sulaimani (TIUS) held a workshop entitled “Design Innovation Inspired by Nature”, held on February 15th, 2023. The workshop aimed to discuss architectural designs inspired by nature in the present and the past, also focusing on designs in computer science that got inspired by nature. The workshop’s sessions consisted of four seminars:

– The first seminar, titled “Bio mimicry-based approach to enhance energy efficiency in the office building”, was presented by Mr. Twana Raswl, A PhD candidate in Marcel Brauer, a Doctoral School for Architecture at the University of Pecs in Hungary.

– The second seminar topic covered “Organ on a Chip”, presented by Miss. Yusra Mohammed, a Lecturer at Computer Engineering Department at Tishk International University-Sulaimani

_ The third seminar, “Fractal Geometry in Urban Design” was delivered by Mrs. Maha Al-Qemaqchi, Lecturer at Tishk International University, Architectural Engineering Department.

– The last seminar highlighted “Biophilic Design in Kurdish Cultural Houses”, presented by Mrs. Didar Kamal, MSc Student at the University of Sulaimani.

The workshop ended with engaging discussions between the presenters and participants.
