Scientific Trip to Garden City’s Villas
The Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIUS) organized a scientific trip to Garden City’s Villas for second-stage students, on November 23rd, 2022.
The purpose of the site visit was to offer students a tangible connection between their academic design projects and real-world architectural examples. Guided by their teachers and project managers, students were encouraged to explore the constructed projects in-depth. This exploration was more than observational—it was an interactive learning experience, enabling the students to engage with the actualized version of concepts they’ve only encountered in plans and blueprints.
Being on-site provides a multi-sensory experience that is unavailable in the classroom. Students can touch materials, understand the scale, and witness the interplay of light and space. They can ask questions directly related to their observations and receive immediate, contextual answers from experienced professionals, deepening their understanding.
