Charity Club – Food Carnival

On November 29th, 2022, the Dean of Students and the Charity Club at Tishk International University-Sulaimani (TIUS), organized an food fundraising event. In preparation for the event, students and staff dedicated their efforts to preparing an array of traditional Kurdish dishes, salads, and desserts for sale. This culinary initiative was part of a broader goal to generate funds for a series of charitable activities planned by the university’s charity club.

The primary objective of this event was to raise funds to support community outreach programs. These programs included providing essential heating oil to underprivileged families during the harsh winter months, as well as organizing visits to local orphanages and homes for the elderly to supply them with necessary items. The determination of the specific uses of the collected funds was to be collaboratively decided by the members of TIU’s charity club.

Moreover, the food carnival served as a cultural bridge, fostering a heartfelt atmosphere where teachers and students could congregate. This social gathering not only allowed participants to enjoy a meal together but also facilitated the strengthening of the community bonds within TIU. It provided a unique opportunity for all involved to engage in meaningful conversations and create lasting memories, all while contributing to a noble cause.
