The Pharmacy Department at Tishk International University – Sulaimani organized a specialized seminar titled “The Impact of Drug Abuse and Mobile Device Dependency” on 10th of February.
The seminar was designed for academic staff and students and aimed at raising awareness about the growing challenges of substance abuse and excessive mobile device use, as well as their psychological, social, and health consequences
The sessions covered a range of important topics, including patterns and risk factors of drug abuse, behavioral and mental health effects of mobile device dependency, the impact on academic performance and daily functioning, early detection and prevention strategies, and the role of healthcare professionals in community education and intervention.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, case-based reflections, and knowledge-sharing activities to deepen their understanding of these critical public health concerns.
Through interactive lectures and evidence-based presentations, participants gained valuable insights and practical approaches to address drug abuse and mobile dependency within academic and student communities. The seminar reflected the university’s commitment to promoting health awareness, social responsibility, and professional well-being among its academic community.
