Under the guidance of Assistant Prof. Dr. Srwa Ali, students from Tishk International University’s (TIU) Medical Analysis Department visited three secondary schools in Sulaimani on October 12 and 15, 2025, as part of a successful health education project. The program sought to improve hygienic habits, health awareness, and prevention among local youth.
Reaching the Community
The project reached approximately 300 students at Salahadin, Shereen, and Rageen secondary schools. The university students delivered engaging seminars, utilizing animated presentations and informative posters to explain critical health topics. Key subjects included the prevention of Hemorrhagic fever, other viruses and Cholera. Additionally, the students emphasized the importance of hand hygiene in preventing bacterial and viral infections.
The event received a warm reception from the school administrations, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative. We extend our sincere gratitude to the participating schools for their cooperation and look forward to further community health initiatives.
Developing Future Leaders
In addition to giving the community vital health guidelines, this initiative helped our students develop important abilities like perseverance, cooperation, and tolerance for other viewpoints. These kinds of initiatives are essential to our goal of helping society as a whole and our students in particular.
