As an attempt to collaborate between design and other allied courses, the department of architectural engineering at Tishk International University-Sulaimani made a successful trial. As a result, on 26.01.2022, students of the 2nd grade submitted their final design projects and incorporated the Construction Technology and Perspective course requirements. This endeavour by the department can positively influence how students of architecture interconnect the knowledge they acquire from other courses into the design and make more out of it.

Two instructors (Dr. Hozan Latif Rauf and Dr. Sardar S. Shareef) of Tishk International University-Suliamani, Department of Architectural Engineering, published a scientific article in the ‘Journal of Nonlinear Engineering’. The article entitled ‘Parameter simulation of multidimensional urban landscape design based on nonlinear theory’. The researchers collaboratively with two Chinese professors considered the application of nonlinear theory in the Landscape Design. On January 27, 2022, Tishk International University, Faculty of Engineering, Architectural Engineering Department, 5th-grade students had the final presentation of the Urban Design Project. On January 26, 2022, Tishik International University, Faculty of Engineering, Architectural Engineering Department, 4th-grade students had the final presentation of ‘Residential Project Design’. The residential project is the first project on an urban scale that students design, in which some important factors need to be taken into consideration such as circulation (Pedestrian, Car, Public Transportation), social interaction within the residential, open areas and greenery, walkable distances in order to access services. On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, Tishk International University, Faculty of Engineering, Architectural Engineering Department, 3rd grade students had the final presentation of the 'Commercial Building Project' design. This project is the first high-rise building that students design during academic learning stages, composed of a base called 'Podium' and a tower. TIU Sulaymaniyah's Business and Management Department and Charmo University's Business College have hosted an International Workshop on the Charmo University Campus on January 27, 2022. The workshop's goal was to inspire professors and students to improve the quality of publications in the region. Three Tishk International University-Suliamani instructors (Dr. Hozan Latif Rauf, Dr. Sardar S. Shareef, and Mr. Nizar Najim Othman) at the Department of Architectural Engineering published a scientific article entitled ‘Innovation in Architecture Education: Collaborative Learning Method Through Virtual Reality’ in the ‘Journal of Higher Education Theory and Practice’, which is indexed by Scopus. We are proud to announce that Tishk International University has been awarded the ISO 21001:2018 certificate by Bureau Veritas Certification Holding SAS-UK Branch in December 2021. The Certificate is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services Body (UKAS). TIU was awarded the ISO 21001:2018 certificate after being subjected to the third-party audit held in September 2021.
