Monday, April 18, 2022, Tishk International University, both departments of Architecture, collaboratively with the Digital Cultural Heritage Center at Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Nahrein Network, organized a workshop entitled “ XR Technologies for Preserving and Re-Imagining Our Past” in our university’s conference hall. The workshop consisted of four sessions, including: “How VR and AR technologies are changing our world.” Presented by Dr. Rozhen Kamal, Director of DCH Center and Co-Director of our Nahrein Network. TIU Sulaymaniyah’s Business and Management Department hosted a workshop for business students on April 21, 2022. The meeting was supervised by Dr. Hariem Ahmet. The workshop’s central focus was “External Auditing in Practice: The Case of Iraq,” which was presented by Mr. Shwan Arass. The purpose of the event is to help students gain a better understanding of accounting and auditing procedures. The professors also discussed several concrete examples from the Kurdistan Region.

Three instructors (Dr. Hozan Latif Rauf, Dr. Sardar S. Shareef, and Mr. Nizar Najim Othman) of Tishk International University-Suliamani (TIU-S), Department of Architectural Engineering, participated in the international conference of ‘Unspoken Issues in Architectural Education’. At the conference, TIU-S instructors presented a conference paper entitled ‘Beyond the common issues: students’ perspective on participation in architecture education’. The paper focused on unspoken issues faced by architectural education during the pandemic and online education. The conference was organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Cyprus, and many scholars participated worldwide.

On April.4.2022 Monday, Tishk International University, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture Department has organized a scientific trip for second stage students for (Grand Boulevard and Sky-Hotel) in Sulaymaniyah. One of the important subjects that architecture department students’ study during their academic education is “Building Construction Technology” in which they study about modern and local methods of constructing and building designs along with different types of structures, especially because different structures allow the architects to execute or implement creative designs. As a newly-opened and ambitious department, the interior design engineering department grows and develops. Having in-studio and theoretical classes prepares interior students to start going to real project sites and combine the skills they get for the sake of a successful design process. So, the trip's main goal was to show the students the real-designed advertisement stands in the Expo as they will take their next project designing stands for companies or agencies in the Expo as their design projects.

On Thursday, April 9, 2022, Tishk International University/Sulaimani, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture Department, organized an international workshop in partnership with Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Cyprus. The session was hosted on the TIU campus, and presenters from EMU University participated online via the Zoom platform. On April 4th 2022, Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a scientific trip to Phoenix Refinery in Arbat which is an international factory for bitumen production. The aim of the trip was to provide the information about the process of producing bitumen and tests that is done to control the quality of the bitumen. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, a workshop was organized as a collaboration between the universities of (Sulaymaniyah, Tishk International and Cihan) about new approaches to architecture design process and methods.
