Tishk International University (TIU) is excited to announce an upcoming international workshop, “Empowering Minds with AI — Tools, Models, and Practical Applications,” scheduled for May 25, 2025. Organized by the Computer Engineering and IT Department in collaboration with Tilburg University, Zero Hunger Lab Netherlands, and Sulaimani Polytechnic University, this event will bring together leading researchers, educators, and students to explore how AI is transforming education, research, and real-world problem-solving.

Lect. Yusra will present a session on “Intelligent Solutions: Exploring AI Tools for Academic and Research Excellence.” This session will introduce participants to cutting-edge AI technologies and practical tools designed to improve research workflows, boost productivity, and enhance efficiency in academic settings. Topics will include machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hozan Khalid Hamarashid
Sulaimani Polytechnic University – Computer Science Institute
Dr. Hozan will deliver a session titled “DeepSeek in LLMs via Reinforcement Learning Compared to ChatGPT.” He will provide a comparative analysis of DeepSeek and ChatGPT, focusing on how reinforcement learning influences large language models and their capabilities, shedding light on their growing role in communication and knowledge generation.
Dr. Hezha Hassan MohammedKhan
Zero Hunger Lab – Tilburg University
Dr. Hezha will present on the application of AI and machine learning in addressing global challenges such as child malnutrition. Her research at the Zero Hunger Lab uses computer vision and predictive modeling to detect malnutrition from visual and contextual data, with the goal of supporting early intervention and effective resource allocation. Her session will highlight how AI can serve as a tool for sustainable development and humanitarian innovation.
