National Workshop: Artificial Intelligence and IoT for Smart Cities in the Kurdistan Region

The Computer Engineering and Information Technology Departments at Tishk International University (TIU), in collaboration with industry professionals and academic researchers, are pleased to announce the upcoming national workshop titled: “National Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT for Smart Cities in the Kurdistan Region.”

This workshop is part of the departments’ commitment to promoting hands-on learning, innovation, and the real-world application of smart technologies.

Distinguished Speakers and Key Topics

The event will bring together academic speakers, researchers, and industry experts to share knowledge on how the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are shaping smart homes, smart cities, and digital transformation, with a particular focus on local relevance in the Kurdistan Region.

Our distinguished speakers and their topics include:

• Prof. Dr. Aso Mohammed Aladdin (Charmo University): “Integrating Artificial Intelligence with IoT and Embedded Systems: Understanding the Differences and Shaping the Future of Smart Technology.”
• Prof. Dr. Hozan Khalid Hamarashid (Sulaimani Polytechnic University): “Artificial Intelligence and IoT in Smart Cities in Kurdistan.”
• Eng. Mohammed Alsada (Erbil Makers Hub): Will lead a hands-on session with live demos on ESP32/Arduino, showcasing their operation in real-world projects like robotic arms and smart technologies.
