Hiwa Hospital, February 4, 2025 – In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Civil Engineering Department organized a social community project on World Cancer Day to support children affected by cancer. Through this initiative, 90 gifts were distributed to 90 children receiving treatment at Hiwa Hospital, aiming to enhance their well-being and provide emotional support.

Strengthening Community and Partnerships

The project was sponsored by both the Civil Engineering Department and Bestun Group, reflecting a strong commitment to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, which promotes the physical and mental health of individuals, especially vulnerable groups. Additionally, this initiative contributes to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, ensuring that children battling cancer receive care and support regardless of their circumstances.

Supervised by the Dean of Students, this social community project also aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, fostering collaboration between academic institutions and private organizations to drive meaningful social impact. By implementing such initiatives, the Civil Engineering Department reinforces its role in addressing key global challenges, demonstrating the importance of social responsibility in achieving a more inclusive and supportive society.
