Tishk International University – Sulaimani is set to host an insightful workshop titled “Practical Engineering Skills: From Reinforcement Detailing to Defect Treatment in Construction” on Monday, February 10, 2025. This workshop is designed to equip engineers, students, and construction professionals with essential skills for structural reinforcement detailing and defect prevention in buildings.
Session 1: Reinforcement Detailing and On-Site Skills
The first session, led by Mr. Binar Khalid, will focus on “Essential Practical Skills for Engineers on Construction Sites: Reinforcement Detailing and Beyond.” He will discuss the critical significance of reinforcement detailing, how to interpret structural drawings, and best practices for ensuring quality and safety on-site. The session will also highlight the importance of effective communication within construction teams.
Session 2: Preventing Moisture and Water Leakage
Following the first talk, Mr. Dana Abdulkarim Mohammed will deliver a lecture on “Causes of Moisture and Water Leakage in Buildings & Solutions.” His session will cover proven solutions for water leakage, the types and uses of materials available on the market, best construction practices to prevent moisture issues, and methods for identifying low-quality materials.
