On April 13, 2025, students from the Medical Analysis Department at Tishk International University (TIU), under the supervision of Dr. Srwa Ali, successfully carried out a health education project by visiting three elementary schools in Sulaimani. The initiative aimed to raise health awareness, prevention, and hygiene practices among young students in the community.
Reaching the Community
The project reached approximately 1,500 students at Qandel, Dleran, and Sarshaqam schools. The university students delivered engaging seminars, utilizing animated presentations and informative posters to explain critical health topics. Key subjects included the prevention of diarrhea and vomiting, cholera, typhoid, and the importance of dental care. The students also emphasized the significance of a nutritious diet for bodily development and the negative effects of unhealthy foods.
The event received a warm reception from the school administrations, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative. We extend our sincere gratitude to the participating schools for their cooperation and look forward to further community health initiatives.
Developing Future Leaders
This project not only provided essential health guidelines to the community but also fostered key skills among our own students, including diligence, teamwork, and the ability to accept diverse perspectives. Such activities are a core part of our mission to benefit both our students and society at large.
