Kurdistan Flag Day
Tishk International University-Sulaimani (TIUS) students and staff celebrated Kurdistan Flag Day on December 17th, 2022. The event was organized with the objective of honouring and raising awareness about the significance of Flag Day among the students and staff. The Kurdish flag is an emblem of unity, representing the diverse elements that constitute Kurdistan.
Mr. Ilham Ibrahim delivered a session designed to educate attendees on the profound sacrifices made by the Kurdish people and to elucidate the importance of Flag Day in our collective memory. In his address, Mr. Ibrahim highlighted the deep symbolic importance of Flag Day, underscoring its place in the cultural and historical tapestry of our nation. Complementing the educational aspect of the event, the music club performed a selection of Kurdish songs, contributing to the festive atmosphere of the day. In a vibrant expression of cultural celebration, staff and students donned traditional Kurdish attire, further imbuing the occasion with a sense of heritage and unity.
