On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Tishk International University, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture Department organized a scientific trip for the 2nd-grade students to Sulaymaniyah Museum.
During education in the architecture department, one of the subjects or lectures is “History of Architecture”, as its one of the most important aspects that students learn about the architecture of famous ancient civilizations throughout history. In order to understand the improvements made by human beings, in architecture especially, from living in cages and small buildings to the huge skyscrapers and high-tech buildings in our modern time.
So, the trip aimed to make the students acquainted with our local and vernacular architecture history. Our region “Mesopotamia” was one of the most famous and richest civilizations in architectural elements, the construction technique with solid materials and beautiful designs. Students took a close look at some remaining masterpieces of them not only in architecture but also in different art fields, such as giant sculptures, columns, carving on stones…. Ect.
