ELT Department Marks International Mother Language Day

The Department of English Language Teaching at Tishk International University is pleased to announce the organization of a national workshop in observance of International Mother Language Day, entitled “The Power of the Kurdish Language in Literature and Its Impact on Preserving National Identity,” on February 19, 2026.

This workshop aims to underscore the importance of the Kurdish language as a cornerstone of cultural identity and heritage. It seeks to explore the ways in which Kurdish literature—both classical and modern—serves as a medium for cultural preservation, national awareness, and intellectual continuity. Through scholarly discussion and expert insights, the workshop endeavors to deepen participants’ understanding of how language contributes to strengthening national identity.
