A major effort to foster environmental stewardship and enhance campus sustainability, on June 4, 2026 the Department of Civil Engineering at Tishk International University successfully executed the Pine Tree Planting Project, an initiative aimed at protecting and improving the university environment while raising vital ecological awareness among students. Carried out by a dedicated group of eight Civil Engineering students—Danial Dler, Kozhin Omar, Arya Mohammad, Rastgo Qadir, Ahmad Khaled, Dyar Mohamad, Aryaz Mohamad, and Sahand Sirwan—under the careful guidance of project supervisor Elham Ibrahim, the initiative strategically introduced several pine trees selected specifically for their suitability to the local environment. These trees were planted across various green areas of the university campus that required additional vegetation, with each phase of the activity organized meticulously to ensure healthy tree growth and long-term environmental sustainability. The primary beneficiaries of this green initiative are the university’s students, lecturers, and staff, as the newly planted trees directly contribute to cleaner air, reduced ambient heat, significantly improved campus aesthetics, and an overall healthier living and learning environment for everyone. By successfully expanding the amount of green space on campus, the project has already elevated the local environmental quality and achieved its goal of inspiring the student body to actively participate in future volunteer activities and environmental protection projects.
