About Faculty of Applied Science
The Faculty of Applied Science is a place for education and research on science. Science is a study that engages in a “dialogue with Nature” to understand the principles and laws working in the natural world. We strive to unravel the mysteries of nature, starting by asking simple questions such as “Why?” and “How?” The principal incentives to do most research activities lie in pure interest, and human wisdom has been accumulated in this manner for many generations. Sometimes the understanding of Nature directly results in applied use in the real world. Other times, it takes a long time before the understanding of Nature brings a significant change to our lifestyles.
Our mission is to foster excellence in teaching, research, and learning within a systems approach to engineering education. Our goal is to educate our students with both a strong base of technical knowledge and the complementary skills needed to be successful professional engineers in the modern world. We also aim to have graduates who consider moral principles of the local and global community and apply them to the practice of engineering in a set of obligations to society, to their clients, and to the profession.
Our core goals are:

· Build strong relations between the Faculty, the University, the community, and industry to build a research base.
· Construct programs to meet evolving industry, community, and student needs.
