A scientific visit was conducted by Pharmacy department-Sulaymaniyah on the 13th of May to Pioneer Pharmaceutical company to provide students with practical exposure to pharmaceutical industrial processes. At the beginning of the visit, the company presented an informative seminar about its production lines, pharmaceutical products, and its role in supplying medications inside Iraq and to other countries such as Qatar and Kuwait. During the visit, the students toured different departments, including the IV fluid production unit, Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratories. They observed the complete journey of drug manufacturing, starting from the use of raw materials through the stages of production, formulation, and monitoring until obtaining the final pharmaceutical product. The students also learned how the manufactured products undergo laboratory testing to ensure their quality, safety, and effectiveness, as well as how non-acceptable compounds or products are identified and rejected before packaging and distribution. The visit greatly enriched the students' practical understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and industrial pharmacy.
