The Department of Interior Design at Tishk International University successfully organized the national workshop “The Role of Interior Design and Architecture in the Revitalization of Cultural Heritage in Sulaimani City” on 18 May 2026.

The workshop brought together academics, students, and professionals to explore the importance of preserving and revitalizing cultural heritage through interior design, architecture, adaptive reuse, and digital technologies. The event featured insightful presentations by Alan Faraydoon Ali and Ameera Ahmed Abdullah, alongside student graduation projects focusing on the rehabilitation of significant heritage sites such as Saray Sulaimani and Cinema Dlshad.

The workshop highlighted innovative and sustainable design approaches that respect cultural identity while strengthening the connection between academic research and practical application. It also encouraged discussion and collaboration among participants interested in heritage conservation and the future of cultural preservation in Sulaymaniyah.
