The students of ELT Department at TIU Slemani embarked on a journey to visit the city of Halabja on December 01, 2021 Wednesday. Upon their arrival in the city, the students first visited U.S. Colleges in Halabja branches with the aim of conducting classroom observations. They received a warm greeting from the administrative staff of the school and were taken to the classroom to carry out observation after exchanges of brief introduction. ELT students presented bouquet of flowers and small gifts to the administration as well as the students upon the completion of the observation as the token of their appreciation as the school management showed the kindness to host and accommodate ELT students. The students were highly impressed with the motivation and enthusiasm of the college students. ELT students asked for their leave after the brief exchange of goodbyes and went on a quest to explore the city. They first went sight-seeing at Chawg which housed a water fountain and trees abundant with leaves in various colors of nature. The visit to Halabja Monument was very emotional one as it was built to commemorate the tragic deaths of thousands of innocent people. They paid their respects to the fallen martyrs and began their movement in the direction of Slemani. They all felt happy and jubilant after a day well-spent. This trip did not only provide the opportunity to gain practical experience but also presented them the chance to visit a city which is full of history and natural beauties.
