As part of its ongoing commitment to community service and social responsibility, the Faculty of Dentistry organized a special oral health outreach program for 140 orphaned children at the
TIU Campus on 24 December 2025. The activity was conducted by dental students under the supervision of their faculty members.
The initiative aimed to improve oral health awareness and provide preventive dental care services for the participating children. During the event, comprehensive dental examinations
were carried out to assess the oral health status of the children and identify any dental conditions requiring further attention.
Alongside the dental screenings, students provided oral hygiene education and practical guidance on maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Interactive demonstrations on proper tooth-brushing
techniques were conducted to help children develop effective oral care habits and understand the importance of daily dental hygiene.
To encourage the adoption of good oral health practices, each child received a toothbrush and toothpaste as a gift. The program combined education, preventive care, and community
engagement to create a positive and meaningful experience for the participants.
The event reflected the Faculty of Dentistry’s dedication to serving vulnerable groups within the community and promoting preventive oral healthcare. It also provided an opportunity for
students to apply their knowledge and skills while contributing to a worthy social cause.
Through initiatives such as this, the Faculty of Dentistry continues to strengthen its role in community engagement and public health promotion, fostering a culture of compassion,
volunteerism, and professional responsibility among future dental practitioners
