These microbes colonize different body sites such as the gut, skin, oral cavity, and respiratory tract, where they play important roles in metabolism, immune system development, and protection against pathogens. The composition of the microbiome is dynamic and influenced by factors such as diet, environment, antibiotics, age, and host genetics. Disruption of this balance, known as dysbiosis, has been linked to various diseases. This presentation introduces the human microbiome, its key functions, and the major factors that influence its composition and stability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Define the human microbiome and describe its major functions in maintaining human health.<\/li>\n<li>Identify the key factors that influence microbiome
