Wais Towers Construction Site Trip
On November 6th, 2022, the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University-Sulaimani (TIUS) organized a scientific trip to Wais Towers Construction Site. The aim of the visit was to introduce the students to the methods of construction of the building and the use of different types of materials during construction.
The trip was supervised by Mr. Ilham Ibrahim, Mr.Bedar Raouf and project supervisors, civil and architectural engineers accompanied the students on the construction site.
During the trip, different stages of construction of the building were explained including overview of the project, pile foundation stage, mat foundation, structural system, reinforcement detailing, as well as the finishing components were explained. Students were exposed to various structures that have been built on the project. The trip was attended by both fourth and third-grade students from the Civil Engineering Department at TIUS.
