Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Tishk International University Sulaimani in collaboration with Halabja Disabled Organization (HDO) will hold a workshop entitled: The role of accessibility features in enhancing Social Inclusion), on November 28, 2022.
The workshop includes three presentations, the 1st one is presented by Mr. Hikmat Marouf, (Disability rights activitist) on the challenges and barriers persons with disabilities face due to lack of accessibility, and the 2nd one is presented by Mr. Awder Omar, (the workshop trainers) types and accessibility standards needs in public places. The 3rd presentation will be presented by Dr.Hozan Latif.
The workshop will be organized as part of the Hiwar project in partnership with UN Ponte Per (UPP) and Funded by UNDP Iraq
The objectives of the workshop are:

Discussing what is meant by accessibility and its importance to participants.

How can we build an inclusive society through accessibility?

Discussing standards and methods of proper accessibility for buildings.
