Monday, April 18, 2022, Tishk International University, both departments of Architecture, collaboratively with the Digital Cultural Heritage Center at Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Nahrein Network, organized a workshop entitled “ XR Technologies for Preserving and Re-Imagining Our Past” in our university’s conference hall.

The workshop consisted of four sessions, including:

  1. “How VR and AR technologies are changing our world.” Presented by Dr. Rozhen Kamal, Director of DCH Center and Co-Director of our Nahrein Network. She introduced the XR to the participants.
  2. “A new approach in architecture education,” presented by Dr. Hozan Latif Rauf from Tishk International University, emphasized the possibilities of applying XR in architectural education.
  3. Participants in this session tested both AR & VR projects done by the DCH by both the students and the academic staff of TIU-S.
  4. The fourth session was sharing the experiences of the XR tools by the students and instructors and listening to the suggestions regarding how XR can be a possible tool to be applied in our education.

The attendees warmly welcomed the workshop.
