Tishk International University Sulaimani arranged a tree-planting campaign at the new campus on 7th March 2021.
With the slogan “Together, we can make Sulaimani a greener place”, the University’s staff and participated in creating an environmentally friendly facility and fostering a greener place. The aim of the campaign was to develop more green zones at the new campus before constructing its buildings.
At 10 am, all staff and students moved to the new campus and began to plant trees, in attempt to accomplish the plan which consisted of nearly 2000 trees of different sorts. In fact, the event was part of a much larger campaign held at Tishk International University Erbil on the 14th of March 2021.
The benefits of nature are important to both humankind and Earth in general. Trees and woodland areas can be used to bring people together for educational purposes. They also allow for activities such as walking or bird watching. In addition, they give children somewhere to play in and feel a sense of adventure.
The Presidency of the University thanks all staff and students for participating in this campaign and expresses much gratitude to the organizers of this event.
